Preschool Capital Campaign

LIFE Logo

Dear Friends,

November 2009

We at St. Joseph of Cupertino are so excited about the prospect of adding a preschool to our parish school. The Diocesan Department of Education has been encouraging elementary schools to add preschool programs in order to serve the needs of our families. We have researched this project carefully and have every hope to open our Junior Jaguars Preschool in August 2010.

We are fortunate that our current AV Room is large enough to meet state requirements for preschool square footage, but it needs to be thoroughly remodeled in order to transform it into a child-centered area for our youngest students. If we are able to raise enough funds, we also hope to build a smaller meeting room right across from the AV Room, so that we can continue to provide meeting areas for the parish groups that now use the AV Room.

Our goal is to raise $200,000 so that we can begin construction in January or February. In place of our school's Annual Development Drive, which we hold each November and December, we are instead conducting the St. Joseph of Cupertino Preschool Capital Campaign.

Please read over the brochure that is included in this packet. We hope you agree that the addition of a Catholic preschool is a wonderful service to our families and a huge investment in our future, and that you will join us in turning this dream into a reality. When so many schools and districts are struggling with cutbacks and closures, it is very exciting that our parish school is building for the future and planning for better ways to serve our families and community. If you have preschool age children or grandchildren, we hope that you have completed our recent survey (www.sjcschool.org/preschool/survey) so that we will know to reserve space in our preschool for your little one.

Thank you for whatever you can do to help us in "literally building the foundation for the youngest students in our community." Please keep our efforts in your prayers; we promise to keep you and your loved ones in our prayers.

Sincerely,
