All About Mrs. Heissenbuttel

I am Tricia Heissenbuttel. I have being teaching at St. Joseph of Cupertino for eleven years, and this is my twenty-fourth year teaching. I began my career with Ms. Lyons at St. Elizabeth School in San Francisco teaching sixth grade. My next job was teaching Math and Science to sixth graders in South San Francisco at Alta Loma Middle School. My love of travel brought me overseas. I spent two years teaching sixth grade Science in Cali, Colombia and two years teaching Science and Social Studies to seventh and eighth graders in Barcelona, Spain.
One day in Spain I received an email from my first and best principal about coming to Cupertino to teach fourth grade. Coming to SJC was the best decision that I ever made. SJC is a wonderful, inclusive community where students, parents and school staff work together to help every kid reach their potential. I feel very, very lucky to be a part of our school community. I began my teaching career with Mary Lyons almost twenty five years ago in San Francisco and love working with her again. I love teaching, helping kids and traveling.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts at the University of California at Berkley, my teaching credential at San Francisco State University, and my Masters of Arts in Educational Administration at the Santa Clara University.
