Our ANNUAL MAGAZINE SALE was “kicked off” today at a special student assembly. Full details about the Magazine Sale, including important dates and the special prize program are included in the packet being sent home in today’s Tuesday Newsletter.
As you know, each year the profits from the Magazine Sale are used to pay for capital improvements. In this way we are able to maintain our plant so that it provides a safe and attractive learning environment for our children. The profits from last year’s sale ($13,852) were used to purchase the second set of Webcoat picnic tables which are now in the upper grade courtyard, with the remainder being used for the special lighting fixtures in our new entryway.
This year the profits will be used to pay for classroom improvements we purchased over the summer (Gr. 5 desks, an assortment of other classroom furniture items, carpeting, and the new umbrellas in both courtyards). The balance will be placed in our Preschool Fund. We are very excited about this new Preschool Project, and we want to begin planning now for the furniture we will soon be purchasing.
Also, remember that the Magazine Sale has lots and lots of great prizes. The prize program is cumulative, and your child can earn more and more prizes by turning in more and more orders. As long as they are turned in by the end of the sale (September 25) your child will get every prize for every level reached.
Then there are some prizes that are earned by turning in a certain number of orders by a specified deadline. Your child can earn a McDonald’s Lunch, an Ice Cream Sundae Buffet, a Movie Afternoon/Pizza Lunch, and an Afternoon Outing to Chuck E. Cheese, but they must meet the deadlines.
In addition, during each of the three Turn-In Days, we will recognize the top selling class and the top selling student with fun prizes. At the end of the sale, the top three sellers in the school will earn cash prizes!
Make sure you post the Magazine Sale Flyer somewhere where you will remember all the dates, order levels, and deadlines.
