Each year during the Easter Season, we conduct the Spring Appeal of our L.I.F.E.: “Legacies In Faith and Education” Program. During the Fall Appeal we usually focus on our Development (endowment) Fund. However, this year, we conducted our PRESCHOOL CAPITAL CAMPAIGN in lieu of the Development Fund Drive. During this Spring Appeal, we focus on our SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS.
We have three Scholarship Funds:
- The Dick Caldwell Memorial Scholarship Fund was initiated in 2005 in honor of a dedicated and longtime parishioner, who was also a school parent and grandparent.
- The Father Leo Rooney Memorial Scholarship Fund was established following Fr. Leo’s death in 1997. Fr. Leo served as our pastor here at SJC. He died of lung cancer at the age of 49.
- The Nick Kelly Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in memory of a beloved sixth grade student who died in February 2001, following a fatal automobile accident.
All three of these funds support our St. Joseph of Cupertino Financial Aid Program. Please look over the enclosed information packet for complete details about each of these funds. Through the generosity of our donors, we are able to keep our doors open to deserving children whose families deeply value Catholic education. This is a very important component of our commitment to living out our identity as a Catholic parish school. The difficult economic environment continues to have an impact on several of our families. If you are in the financial position to help others who are struggling, please consider making a gift to one or more of these Scholarship Funds.
